Mirror Lake Highway Adventure Day Continued

When we were finished at Mirror Lake, we headed back down the Mirror Lake Highway for two quick stops, both of which I want to visit again when we have more time.  The first was Provo River Falls, a big, gradual waterfall right off the highway.  Several of the kids took their shoes off so they could better explore the rocks at the bottom of the waterfall, but nobody made it all the way up to the waterfall this time.

If you look closely you can see everyone in the group in this picture except me.

Next we visited the Fairy Garden, an area of several acres (10? 20?) in the middle of the forest, just a short walk from the road.  Over the years people have brought painted rocks and other memorabilia to decorate this spot, and the fun is in walking around and appreciating the variety and novelty of the decorations.  In a blog post I found describing this area, there was a photo of a miniature Stonehenge, which we looked for but never found.  Hopefully next time!

I loved these very Fairy items

And this was an entire Fairy City with a museum, beauty salon, hotel, and more.

Lots of the rocks were not specifically fairy-themed,
but we appreciated them anyway.

A few of the displays encouraged interactive play.

Several rocks bore messages, some more virtuous than others.

And then there were the rocks that were just pretty.

When we were finished, we stopped at Dairy Keen for treats.  It's a little burger and shake joint in Heber with lots of cool train paraphernalia, which makes it a favorite for Jack.  It was the perfect way to end our outing.
