The Adventures of Cat & Jack: Cookie Time

Confession: I was even more stressed and crazy in the weeks leading up to Christmas this year than I have been in the past. And that's saying something. I'm always stressed because I've never been good at getting my projects done early. But this year I had, not only several smallish projects I wanted to do for the kids, but a huge project I was working on for all of our extended family members. I wasn't sleeping enough and I wasn't a very fun Mom. We didn't do nearly as many fun family Christmas activities as we have in the past - our activity advent calendar was mostly (sadly!) empty - but at least we made time to decorate a small batch of sugar cookies.

The kids did a great job, and I was so glad that I finally was smart enough to make a single batch of cookie dough, rather than the double batches I usually make. It was a manageable amount, and perfect for an evening activity before the kids went to bed.

Maybe next year I'll finally get things done early enough to just have fun during the month of December?
