At the beginning of the school year, Jack and Eliza finally started taking piano lessons. They've both been wanting to start piano, since it's such a big thing for Cat, and they both took to it quickly. Not only do they not fight me on having to practice very much, but Cat hardly fights about practicing now. It's as if they've all just accepted the fact that learning to play the piano is an expectation in our family. Woohoo! Of course, there are days when they require more prodding and don't focus well, but in general it's been easier than I thought it would be.
Jack quickly showed a skill for reading notes and does remarkably well on his flash cards. He enjoys having Creative Piano Time and coming up with his own compositions, as well as figuring out tunes he already knows. Eliza does a great job of playing music expressively with dynamics and articulation. They both have good technique so far and are already memorizing music. They also are both comfortable, and even enjoy, performing in front of people.

Occasionally, Jack isn't particularly interested in having a piano lesson, during his piano lesson. |

I try to keep Luke occupied with independent play time while Eliza practices in the mornings.
Jigsaw puzzles are his favorites, but any quiet toy is fair game. |
So blessed they are. Laughed out loud at Jack's antics.
