Treat Weekend, aka Conference Weekend

I think I can consider us successful in the category of finding ways to help our kids look forward to General Conference.  Jack, especially, loves conference weekend and the treats associated with it.  That's a good thing, right?

We continued our tradition of having crepes on Saturday morning and homemade doughnuts on Sunday morning.  The doughnut making went a lot faster this year because the kids were old enough and experienced enough to help.

We also employed the Conference Bucks method of encouraging reverence and attentiveness during conference itself, and that helped a lot.  I didn't even get very many activity items out this time, and the kids were pretty well behaved.

Some talks that stood out to me were What Lack I Yet?, Yielding Our Hearts to God, and My Heart Pondereth Them Continually (and we've ponderized several scriptures as a family already).

What a blessing it is to listen to inspired words from leaders of the Church.  I feel encouraged, uplifted, and directed every General Conference.
