Eliza turned four this week. Yes, four. FOUR. Yowsers.
She and I went back and forth about what the theme for her birthday should be. Up for consideration were: Cowgirls, Princesses, PINK, Puzzles (this is the one I was hoping for), and Frozen. In the end, Frozen won, and it ended up being really fun. There are tons of ideas out there right now, and I spent almost no money putting the party together. We decided to invite two families to join us for our little party Monday night, and Eliza just loved it. This was the first "friend" party she's had, so it was special for her, but pretty casual at the same time.
I made large hanging snowflakes and spray painted them silver, I cut out small coffee filter snowflakes and the kids helped me paint glitter on some of them, then I made lots of fabric streamers to use throughout the living area. I made snowman pizza, snowy-y punch, and snowflake-topped cupcakes. We played Pin The Nose on Olaf and I made a bunch of yarn pom-poms for an indoor snowball fight, which the dads enjoyed as much as the kids. The guests' favors were personalized up-cycled grits containers with snowflakes stamped on them. They got to fill these little buckets with "snowballs" before going home.
What beautiful decorations! It looks like a wintery wonderland.
