I've been thinking that I want to share what our house looks like room by room. I may or may not make it through the entire house. We'll see. But hopefully I'll at least share the kids' rooms. Eliza's is the smallest room but probably my favorite. I really like the way it turned out.
Now, when you see her room you might ask yourself if it's actually a room at all. Does it count as a room if it has no closet? What if it doesn't have any windows or electrical outlets? Well, it is a room because she chose it as her room. When we first moved in I thought that the Harry Potter Closet would make a cool reading nook/hideout so I began piling our extra blankets and Pillow Pets in there. When E saw what I was up to she immediately said she wanted it as her room, and she's been there ever since. We made it more bedroom-ish with some little shelves from IKEA, some stick-on hooks for purses, and other decorations. (The butterflies are my absolute favorite, and perhaps the cheapest and easiest room decoration project I've ever done.) Her twin-sized mattress just fits in the room and since there's no space for any other furniture, her clothes are actually in a dresser in the playroom.
Sometimes Eliza does complain that she doesn't have a "real" room, but I know that she also really appreciates having her own space. There are times when she needs to be alone and we are all grateful that she has a way to do that. She takes pride in her room and enjoys showing it off to people when they come over. I love that she loves it.

That is really cool! I would've loved a room like that when I was her age!
