TBT - Everyday Stuff - May 2014 Edition

HOW TALL IS IT???

The monkey thought twas all in fun...

Pop! Goes the weasel.

Truck + Dirt = Love

He also loves him some hopscotch.

Someone's been eating an Otter Pop...

What?  Just having some Oreos and milk.

Like father like daughter.

Sometimes Luke likes to help out by clearing out the cupboards.

He also likes to practice his salad spinning skills.

Eliza used my gloves to keep her hands warm while eating her Otter Pop.
Jack removed the wrapper while eating his Otter Pop.

Sibling Sleepover!

Luke loves splashing, even in dirty puddles by the curb.
Sometimes I think it's a good thing we don't live in the South,
because we don't have a lot of puddles around here...

The kids gathered around Ben like he was the Pied Piper,
eagerly helping him eat a can of Mandarin oranges.

When Cat started playing softball, Jack wanted his own bat and ball set.
He bought this one from the dollar store.  It actually survived longer than I thought it would.
(My prediction was a day or two.  It lasted for a few weeks.)

Eliza's Dollar store purchase?
A long-haired headband.

Jack really loves being upside down.
This is the way he prefers to be carried downstairs at bedtime.

Eliza would be happy all day if we just let her cut, cut, cut, cut, cut.

My kids love doing Cosmic Kids Yoga videos on YouTube.

I kept trying to get a picture of Luke wearing these cute
little sunglasses but he would move them so fast that this
was the best I could do.

An impromptu picnic at a nearby park provided an opportunity to watch
some of the students at the neighboring elementary school practice their
end-of-the-year dance.

And Eliza joined in on the dancing.
Now I like "What Does the Fox Say?" even more.

Christmas in May.

Chocolate ice cream.

If your rag isn't cutting it, you can always wipe the table off with your shirt.
While you're wearing it.

Cat reminds herself and others about things by writing notes.
She reminds me of me that way...

Remember what I said about Jack loving being upside down?

Eliza made this for me one day while playing with scissors and glue.
She told me it's a knitting ring.  After a few questions, I figured out what it was.
An embroidery hoop.  I haven't done much embroidery lately, but I love that she
knows it's something I enjoy.

Luke probably had a bit of a crick in his neck after this.

Brothers.

So happy.

Jack decorated the house to look like the mountains one day.
This was a big project for him, and he worked really hard on it and
recruited help from other members of the family.

Eliza told me exactly what to write on the cover of her book.

Sometimes I feel like the playroom is actually a Toy Storage Area.
Most of the playing takes place in the family room, which is NOT in the basement.

And that, my friends, is a wrap.
May is finally over.
Whew.

  1. I love these....so telling. I laughed when pictures went from Jack with bat and ball (typical) to Eliza with store bought hair (typical). Cat's list took me down memory lane. I can't count the number of times i awoke to a note reminding me about something i had "promised" to do. Brett, you always kept me on task.

  2. BTW...just wondering who is Eliza's least favorite Dad?
