Longest Play Date Ever

We had good friends passing through town recently while they moved from the Pacific Northwest to the NYC area.  Talk about a long road trip!  Our friends spent the night at our house, so the kids had lots of time to play in the evening, and again all morning.  They played hide and seek, did sidewalk chalk, and played in a fort in the family room.  They did dress-up, performed science experiments, and held classes.  In short, they had a great time.  Which was awesome, especially considering that it could be a while before they see each other again.

I was also, selfishly, grateful that the kids were so happily entertained because it meant that the adults could enjoy talking (even if it meant speaking loudly so as to be heard over the playing kids).  I probably even appreciated the visit more than the kids!  It's such a treat to get time with people we love.  Thank you for taking the time to see us, Friends!
