The Rest of Suz's Visit

(published 1/23/24)

We loved having Suz and her family here for the long weekend of Cat's graduation and recital. And Suz and Whit were able to stay even longer, which was so fun!

On Friday morning, Suz and I went on a walk to Bridal Veil Falls, only to discover that the path in front of the waterfall was completely blocked by an avalanche which had occurred in January. We just turned around and walked the other way until we were ready to leave. But we told everyone at home about it and on Sunday afternoon we all went to check it out together.

Other families were doing the same thing, and we saw them up on the avalanche, climbing and exploring, so we followed suit. While we were up there we saw a few spots where the snow/ice had melted and the waterfall was visible below - and we decided we should tread lightly. It wasn't until we got home that we found out that authorities advised the public against climbing on the avalanche. Oops.

When we got home, we made dinner and dessert pizza using our outdoor pizza oven,
and tried out the new patio furniture we'd gotten the day before.

Tuesday afternoon game of Sorry!

That evening we took the kids to the playground but I didn't take any pictures
because we left in a hurry after Whit hurt his head. After we found him some ice,
then Liza used my phone to take a few selfies.

Thankfully, Whit was recovered enough to join us for some
backyard football after dinner.

Grammy's Birthday, AKA Yes Day!
Liza's been wanting to try on dresses at a shop that sells
a lot of dresses for quinceaƱeras so we finally stopped in.
I didn't know we were supposed to have an appointment, but
the shop lady let Liza try on a couple of dresses anyway.
