Senior Recital & Cookout

(published 1/13/24)

We had one more day focused on Cat before all the graduation-related activities wrapped for the year: Cat performed a Senior piano recital on the afternoon of Memorial Day, and we hosted a cookout at our house right after.

Cat's recital went so well. I absolutely loved it. She sounded (and looked) absolutely beautiful and I loved seeing her just enjoy herself as she performed. She also had a great group of supporters in attendance which made it all the sweeter.

Quick story about the giant Cat heads:
We joked about bringing something like this or large foam fingers
to graduation but decided it would be more fun at the recital -
we handed out several and people held them up at the end!

I got lots of help getting the decorations up and everything prepped and set for the cookout so that we could just jump into hosting mode after the recital. And it all went well! We had lots of people here from different areas of Cat's life and it made me so happy to see them here showing their love for Cat and our family. It was a beautiful day to be outside and eat, mingle, play games, and just hang out. It was the perfect way to end a wonderful graduation weekend.
