Pops's House

The menfolk made us a yummy French Toast breakfast on Friday, then we dared the stubbornly cool and overcast weather to ruin our fun.  Dad's house is on a small inlet of Lake Lanier and he and Kelly had bought/borrowed/stolen? a small armada of fun water toys for us to enjoy.  The kids were content to kayak and paddleboard for a while.  Until Dad brought out the big guns: a large foam mat that could hold up to 2000 pounds.  Oh my goodness.  The kids and Andy and Ben played and pushed and wrestled and laughed and even the people who were just watching loved it.

Once we got everyone cleaned up and fed with some lunch, we ventured out for a nice refreshing treat and hoped we wouldn't get rained on.  Dad and Kelly took us to Mountain Fresh Creamery which boasted "Milk so fresh the cow doesn't know it's gone!"  The store and ice cream counter are located on the edge of the farm, so after enjoying delicious ice cream, we walked around to check out the cows in the adjoining pasture.

That evening and the next morning the kids learned all about what to do if they ever encounter a cow in the wild.  Now they're prepared.

Saturday morning included Dunkin' Donuts (which my children claimed to their grandfather they'd never had... I'm not so sure) and movie time, then yummy pizza for lunch.  There were lots and lots of hugs as we departed early Saturday afternoon.  We are so glad we had a few days of family and fun in Georgia!
