Megan Visited!

Megan came for a quick visit while Suz was still in town.  She mostly came to spend time with Oma, but we enjoyed time with her too!  Oma didn't know Megan was coming so it was fun to surprise her! Then, while we were at Oma's, Grammy arrived after driving all the way from SC.  So fun!

We celebrated having two more visitors by going out to a new Korean BBQ restaurant in Orem.  Ben and Suz were particularly excited to share one of their favorite cuisines with us.  Alas, as has happened in the past, the version in America was not as good as it was in the original country, but I guess those are the risks you take when you travel the world and get the best of the best foods.  We managed to have lots of fun at dinner anyway.

Megan had more time to visit with Oma the next day, and in the evening we took all our visitors to Provo Canyon for a good ol' evening in the mountains.  We set up the Dutch oven making a berry cobbler, and while it cooked Ben and the younger kids hung out and played.  The rest of us went to Bridal Veil Falls.  We ended up walking up almost all the way to the waterfall.  It was a great little adventure and only a bit precarious.

When we got back, Jack was hard at work splitting wood for our fire, and it didn't take long before everyone was roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.  We also sang songs, played games, and told some scary stories.  We were there much later than we planned, even re-starting the fire after it had died out because we were enjoying ourselves so much.  But when Jack and Suz started covering each other's ears so they could fall asleep, we knew it was time to go home.

On Megan's last day here, she took Eliza with her to meet up with Grammy and Oma for manis & pedis.  Eliza loved it and felt so special to get that time with the ladies.

That night, Cat, Megan, Suz, and I drove up to Oma's to have dinner with her and Grammy.  We were having a little too much fun at dinner and one of the other residents actually complained about the noise.  I left to attend choir rehearsal while everyone else hung out a while longer.  Then all but Oma met up a couple of hours later to see "Yesterday" and we all loved it!  I wish I had pictures from that night because it was almost a magical way to end Megan's visit: talking and laughing and enjoying a great movie together.  Her red-eye flight back to SC was delayed so we took some time to get her a milkshake from In-N-Out Burger before driving her to the airport.

We loved having her here!
