Adventures with Suz and Whit

A few fun things we did together...

1. Afternoon in Murray
Suz and Whit wanted to see Oma, but Suz really wanted to have some time on her own with Oma.  So all of us went to Oma's apartment and visited for a bit, which was great.  My favorite moment was when Oma pulled Whit close to tell him something and we all leaned in a little to hear what sweet sentiments or bits of wisdom she was going to impart.  She said, "Tell your mom to take you to the barber."  Note: He had just gotten a haircut a day or two before.  After that comical moment, I took the kids for a couple of hours while Suz stayed with Oma.  The kids and I went to Wheeler Historic Farm to explore and see the animals.  They spent the biggest chunk of the time feeding the ducks.  I bought tokens for the kids to ride on the little train, but the kids were upset that they didn't get to milk the goat, and disappointed about not going on the tractor.  We also had to deal with Whit getting a couple of splinters.  Also Jack and Luke got into a big fight.  But then Whit and Eliza found their dream house, so that was good.

2. Olympic Park in Park City
We drove up to Park City for Olympic Day and the freestyle ski show, which were both really fun, except for the unseasonably cold temperatures.  Another cold Saturday in the mountains for us!  We didn't have a lot of time at the Olympic Day event, but the kids tried out adaptive bikes and curling; Cat, Suz, and Whit met some Olympians; and then we all rode the chair lift up to the top of the hill (mountain?) instead of walking back up hill to the ski show.  The ski show was awesome!  The tricks those athletes were doing were amazing, and to have to jump into a cold pool on a cold day like that made it even more impressive.

3. Matt's House
Ben and his good friend Matt wanted to test out their new scuba gear, so we ended up spending several hours at Matt's house with the kids swimming and playing in the pool, and even trying out the gear themselves.  We were there so long that we also had pizza for dinner and made s'mores in the outdoor fireplace.  So fun!
