Father's Day

We kicked off our Father's Day weekend with a special festive yummy lunch buffet at Oma's, complete with Dad's Root Beer.  When we were on our way back up to her apartment to visit some more after lunch we walked by the game room and the kids ran in, hoping to play some pool.  So, we did.  And they had a blast playing, and we had a blast watching.

Ben grilled his own lunch on Father's Day, but we made ice cream for him.  It was all delicious.

Then we went on a bike ride over to the church parking lot.  We started racing around the parking lot and were having fun until Jack took a turn too tight and fell, scraping the inside of his knee along the asphalt.  Ben braked too fast trying to see what was going on with Jack and went down, putting his hand down to catch himself, and hurting his elbow.  (We found out later that he got a sprain and a hairline fracture and ended up having to get physical therapy to get his arm back to normal.  Eek.)

Back at the house, I hurried to have the kids fill out little questionnaires while Ben packed for a work trip.  I hoped to sneak the papers into his suitcase but the kids wanted him to see them right away so he took a minute to read the answers before heading to the airport.  It was worth it.

Happy Father's Day Ben!  We sure love you!
