Finding Dory

We were excited about Finding Dory coming out, so we decided to have some fun with it.  First we made fish lollipops, then we decorated our family room with some of our favorite Finding Nemo characters.  We invited cousins to come over and watch Finding Nemo with us, and a few days later we saw Finding Dory as a family (except for Cat, who was in Wyoming at the time.  But she saw it when she got back).  We loved the new movie and I still love my Nemo decorations in the family room too.  I keep telling myself that it's time to take them down but I just can't bring myself to do it...

These helpers were also happy to help with eating the extra Swedish Fish.

I made these using the recipes found here and here.
I made two batches because the first batch got completely burned.
The second batch was overcooked as well (which is part of the reason the color was so dark).
Apparently I need to practice this whole hard candy cooking thing.
And, yes, I was using a candy thermometer.  (But I think the batch was so small that the
thermometer wasn't reading the temperature properly.)

I drew Bruce using this image.  Jack colored it, and he wanted to draw the teeth himself.

I drew the outline for Nemo and Eliza painted him.  She also colored in a Dory I drew.

Luke painted the two blue fish and the yellow one, and Eliza decorated the
octopus with puffy paints.  I added the crepe paper seaweed.

Jack put this whole collage together.

The movie was so sweet, and very funny.
I've now added the phrase "CUDDLE PARTY!" to my regular rotation.
