"But the jungle is large, and the Cub he is small."

Turning 8 meant two exciting things for Jack.  First was being baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Second was becoming a "Club Scout."  (Admittedly, he only called mispronounced it once, but the name has stuck for me anyway...)

His leaders came to give him his handbook and introduce us to the program a few days before his birthday.  We were reading The Jungle Book at the time and it was fun to see all of the program's references to the book.

Soon after we got the handbook, I spotted Jack admiring it one morning before school.

Grammy gave Jack his "Cub Scout Suit" for his birthday.  Here he is all dressed up and ready for his first Pack meeting.
