Cat's Spring recital came pretty early this year, so it was a relief that she only had two short pieces to learn. The first is "Farewell" by Henry Purcell. The second is "March" from the notebook of Anna Magdalena Bach. I thought Cat did beautifully on both, and her teacher was particularly pleased that Cat performed "Farewell" with such feeling.
Unfortunately, our camera stopped recording midway through the second piece, so the second video picks up as soon as I could get it to record again. You get the basic idea anyway...
What a beautiful, poised young lady she is going to be! And the fun part is you can still see the light hearted 'fun' sparkle in her smile. So glad she can 'feel the music' - makes the sound come alive.
ReplyDeleteI am so grateful for her hours of practice which enable her to have this skill needed for a special performance . I can hardly wait till she has a few more years of living under her belt to pull from for her artistic expressions-it will only get better - so proud of her.
Cat is not only talented but a testament to a persevering mother and unwavering belief that she can accomplish great things. with that combination, she can't go wrong! This is really lovely. Thanks for the hours, tears, patience, and anxiety that produced this complete joy. What a lovely gift to us.
