Pool Time

The kids have had a long weekend, which is referred to around here as "Fall Break."  In an effort to do something fun, I decided to surprise them with a trip to our city's rec center, which has a new indoor pool we'd never been to.  The kids have been begging to go ever since it opened over the summer, so they were really excited about the adventure.  As you can see from the picture, it's not all that big, but it was big enough to keep The Bigs happy yesterday afternoon.

They didn't play on the play structure very much, but they all loved the little lazy river and the slide.  Cat went on the water slide over and over again, and I took Jack and Eliza once each.  We brought a set of diving rings with us, and they spent a lot of their time tossing the rings and retrieving them, even inviting other pint-sized patrons to join in the fun.

The only one who didn't have a great time was Luke, who I think was mostly unhappy about how loud and echo-y it was in there.  I held him in the pool for a while, trying to play with The Bigs at the same time, but the water wasn't too terribly warm and when he started to shiver, I decided to go ahead and put him out of his misery.  He snuggled with me on a comfy deck chair for a little while, then he was perfectly happy to climb and play and look around until it was time to go home.

  1. That pool looks like a wonderful place to play. Love that Cat holds Luke so comfortably. He had lost his baby look:(
