Our 4th Annual Trip to Jaker's

The other fun outing for Fall Break was to our favorite pumpkin patch in Springville.  We've now been there every October since we first came to Utah.  Four in all.  Wow.  I can hardly believe that.

Anyway, this is a great pumpkin patch with lots of free activities for the kids, and they love it.  The corn pit is always a huge favorite, and they love the big slides.  Of course the hay ride is a must, and Jack really enjoyed being King of The Hay Mountain.  The weather was lovely - sunny without being hot - and we had a great time.  The only sad thing was that Eliza left a boot there, when she was emptying it of hay and corn.  We'll head back there this week and try to find the boot.  :-)

Cat loved burying herself in the corn pit.

Up to his EARS in CORN.  Hahahaha!

Jack stayed up there for quite a while.

I was hoping Luke would take advantage of the opportunity to CLIMB
to his heart's content on the hay mountain, but he was not interested at all.
He wandered over to see the horses instead.

Cat joined him, and after a few minutes he was finished with horses
and waving at the folks on the hayride.

Cat was also sweet enough to take Luke on the big corrugated pipe things (slides).

All of the kids really loved the slides and went down
over and over and over and over again..  Eliza even convinced me
to give it a try.  Once was enough for me.

I was taking pictures of the kids when they were all standing in line together
and this boy in the white shirt started trying to cut in line.  Do you see how Eliza
is giving him the stink-eye?  (Click on the picture to see it bigger.)  It cracks me up.

I was excited to try to get a cute picture of all four kids.
There's one missing here though...

That's because he was adamant that he NOT be in this picture.
He just kept running away.

And then he would collapse on the ground in a puddle of tears, completely
offended that I would try to pose him behind a pumpkin with his siblings.

Hayride time!

Look - I was there too.

There was a small petting zoo area with a wallaby, turkeys,
goats, geese, small pigs, and this 700 lb. pig (the lump to the right of Jack).

The last activity of the afternoon was a quick game of hide & seek in the straw
maze.  I love that the kids play so well together.  They had a great time!

  1. Thank you Cat for being so kind to your little brother Luke. Such fun! Autumn is truly here and my favorite time of year. Jack and Eliza looked like they had such a good time. Eliza may need her 'evil eye' from time to time and not be afraid to use it. Jack is my king of the mountain anytime he wants.
