School's Out for Summer

Just a few more end-of-the-year festivities I wanted to share before I get too deep into summer.

The annual kickball game held between the sixth graders and the teachers.
Cat was really excited about this and intent on winning.  She and a her friends
even spent time during recess practicing kickball in the weeks leading up to the game.
The teachers won the game, 16-15.  Cat can be seen in the far right of the above photo.

Annual Family Picnic

Cat's best friend joined us during the family picnic.

During the last week of school, Eliza came home with these pictures
and notes from her teacher.  I love these!

Cat was selected as a member of the yearbook staff at the beginning of the year,
which meant weekly after-school meetings to plan and prepare the yearbook.
The students on the staff decided on an animated-character theme, with students
in the school drawing characters and the staff pairing those characters up with
teachers, and adding quotes.  As part of the staff, Cat helped with layout and design
and was assigned to take pictures during several school events.  There was so much work
to do that for the last few months of school, the teacher in charge of the yearbook staff
held meetings twice weekly instead of just the original once.  Cat loved it.

This is Cat's Tweety Bird drawing, and in the above cover photo you can see her
drawing of Princess Poppy.  She had several other drawings throughout the yearbook, too.

It's hard to tell in the picture, but we had "silly" pancakes for breakfast
to commemorate the last day of school.

Teacher gifts.  I love Cat's Reese's bouquet for her teacher who loves Reese's.
The teacher the kids refer to as Mr. Captain, who's one of Cat's very favorites and who
is going into administration next year, received some inexpensive Captain America
cuff links.  The teachers we don't know as well received Redbox codes and movie treats.

Last day!

We went out for Frosties when school got out, bringing Cat's friend with us.
This has been a good year for the kids.  Cat absolutely LOVED her teachers and classes, friends, and extracurricular activities.  Jack and Eliza had great experiences with their teachers, classes, and friends as well and we're all so grateful.
