Beauty is a Beast

Cat here. I am going to tell all of you about my experience with my fellow sixth graders as we performed, Beauty is a Beast.
The Play is about a princes who is the most beautiful person in the world, made that way by her Fairy Godmother. [Me] At the beginning, she is a person who has no other care in the world for anyone else. Her kind sister Honor has a party that will be going on because she is turning of age and there is a prince in town who should be a suitable suitor for Honor. The only problem is that Beauty is jealous of Honor and wants the prince to herself. So, the Fairy Godmother makes the Prince blind so as to teach Beauty a lesson. Beauty, however, has no interest in learning lessons. The Fairy Godmother then teaches Beauty another lesson, and makes Beauty ugly. Beauty is forced to live with the Peasants of the Kingdom. During her time with the poor, Beauty meets the ever attractive Nick and he helps her to find her true beauty.
To be honest, I was really nervous about the outcome of the play. We got the script only two weeks before the actual play was supposed to happen. We had only had one dress rehearsal before the play, and it did not go well. One of the leads didn't know his lines very well, and messed everyone else up. (everyone else knew their lines very well, well enough to know that he didn't...) The director, Mr. B, got very frustrated. The play turned out to be okay, as you might see, but it could have been better given some time. It was very fun to participate in and I was very glad to be able to be a part of it, even if I wasn't perfect. Again, with some more time, it would have been more outstanding!
The play was fun to participate in. All of the costumes and amazing chaos was very fun. The actors and leaders were very supportive and helpful. It really taught me a great lesson on drama and will be very memorable. The design of the set and the parts was awesome! It was a great experience and I am glad that I did it. Enjoy!
Cat's friend was doing her hair just before the show. It looked great. |
What a wonderful experience! Thanks for the review, Cat!!
