TBT - Worland

My great-grandfather Andrew moved to Wyoming as an adult, and that's where he met his wife and raised his family.  My grandfather (Andrew's son, who we affectionately call Opa) brought his wife home to Wyoming, as well, and they spent several of the early years of their marriage in Wyoming before settling in northern Virginia.  My Mom lived in Worland on and off in her early years, and this summer, Cat visited Worland for the first time with her grandmother and great-grandparents.  My grandfather still has family in Worland and I believe that Cat has now officially met more of them than I have.  I don't have any pictures from the trip, but she had a great time, and I love that Grammy and Oma and Opa invited her to join them.  In addition to meeting extended family, Cat saw another cemetery with family grave stones, the houses where my mother and Opa lived, and other significant sites.

Above is Opa in front of the house he grew up in, in the 1940's.
His parents had rented the house for 20 years but after World War II
the owner decided to live in the house again.  Andrew couldn't find another house
to live in with the housing shortage after the war, so he just built one himself.

Above is the house that Andrew built for his family in the late 1940's.
Pictured are my mother (on the right), my aunt, and my uncle in front of the house in 1959.

Another picture of my mom and her family growing up in Worland,
probably in the mid-50's.  Mom is on the right.
