Imagine Arts Contest

The Bigs submitted entries to their school art contest this Spring.  Cat wrote a poem and all three kids had a piece of 2-dimensional art.  The theme was "Look to the Future."  The kids were asked to write a brief statement about their submission, so I included those below each one.

        "Some Thought" by Cat

As you look to the sky,
What do you see?
As the world passes by.
What do you think?
Do you think of what's to come?
Do you think of everyone?
You could think of a wish.
If you could have one wish,
Would you be a king?
Would you have everything?
If you saw the sky,
Passing calmly by,
What would you think?

I realized from last year that the theme does not have to be the biggest part in your poem.  So I thought long and realized that there is a lot more in the future than just the future.

"Our City and the Future" by Jack
What made me do it was I thought I could do bubbly houses floating around and the
ocean floating on top of the earth and it was raining all the time.  And I had a rocket
at our city cause there was a rocket exploding and a race car.

"Future Sun" by Eliza
This doesn't look like our sun.  It looks like a different sun.
And a different sun would be in the future.

"A City" by Cat
The future is an open thing that you can put ALL of your imagination into.
It is fun to think of what it can be.
