Dinosaur Museum

Thanksgiving Point's Museum of Ancient Life is only 20 minutes or so away from us, and we'd heard a lot of good things about it.  They had a special where it was only $2 to get in on Tuesdays in August, so I brought Jack and Eliza to the museum one morning while Cat was in school.  I have to say, I didn't think it was so fun for little kids, but I've been told that I missed some of the more little-kid-friendly areas of the museum because it was so crowded and taking so long that we didn't try to see everything.  Here is what we DID see...

Roarrrrr!

(the less fierce version...)

Nice dinosaur bone, nice dinosaur bone.
Good boy.

Watching a scientist in the fossil lab work on a barosaurus fossil found in Wyoming.

Don't touch the dimetrodon!

"Utahraptor"
Seriously.

This was Jack's favorite part of the museum - it was literally a dinosaur-themed playroom.
There was a landscape scene carpet with tons of dinosaur figurines, and a big dinosaur puzzle area.
He didn't want to leave to meet up with the rest of the group.

This area was a close second - a water/sand play table with trees and small dinosaurs you could  arrange as you wanted.

Eliza liked this part too.

Maybe we'll go back one day and see what else the museum has to offer.
We'll be sure not to go when it's so cheap that everyone else in a 60-mile radius is there with their toddlers and strollers though!
