Thanksgiving Point's Museum of Ancient Life is only 20 minutes or so away from us, and we'd heard a lot of good things about it. They had a special where it was only $2 to get in on Tuesdays in August, so I brought Jack and Eliza to the museum one morning while Cat was in school. I have to say, I didn't think it was so fun for little kids, but I've been told that I missed some of the more little-kid-friendly areas of the museum because it was so crowded and taking so long that we didn't try to see everything. Here is what we DID see...
Roarrrrr! |
(the less fierce version...) |
Nice dinosaur bone, nice dinosaur bone. Good boy. |
Watching a scientist in the fossil lab work on a barosaurus fossil found in Wyoming. |
Don't touch the dimetrodon! |
"Utahraptor" Seriously. |
This area was a close second - a water/sand play table with trees and small dinosaurs you could arrange as you wanted. |
Eliza liked this part too. |
Maybe we'll go back one day and see what else the museum has to offer.
We'll be sure not to go when it's so cheap that everyone else in a 60-mile radius is there with their toddlers and strollers though!
