The Youngest

And now it's finally Luke's turn.  Here are a few things Luke's been doing, along with some good Lukeisms.

The biggest piece of news is that Luke is officially finished with napping.  After going on our Thanksgiving trip, I couldn't get him back in the habit of taking a 1-2 hour nap in the afternoons, so we've cut it out.  And he's been fine without his nap.  I guess 4.5 years is long enough.

This is all Luke wanted to do (even while walking to church)
back in the fall when he got a 3D book on ocean life.

He and I made some fun things out of blocks while visiting
my grandmother's apartment recently.

During one of Cat's basketball games, Luke laid down on Eliza's coat and wanted my coat on top of him.
He called it his nest.

When we talked about something Luke would like to share with his class
during their Thanksgiving Feast, he opted for Cracker Snackers (he came
up with the name) which are crackers with small slices of cheese and a little
lunch meat on top.

That day, Luke's friend brought her pet mini pig to class.
The pig's name was Walter.

"They're both just regular cars.
They're minivans."

"I like all the colors except pink and purple."

Luke came home with some doughnut holes after school one day.
After a while, I asked if he'd share any with me and he said,
"All the cinn-a-nin ones are gone because they're really good."

This plastic alligator toy became a scrubber in the bath the other day.

"Dad did all of it and I did the other pieces."

Whit came over to play a little while ago and the two of them just disappeared
downstairs. After a while I went to investigate, and I loved seeing what they'd
come up with while they were playing together.

Luke got the benefit of helping clean out the fridge before we left for a trip.
Pizza or mac and cheese for lunch?  Both, please.

"Mom, take my picture!"

We had some light snow a couple of weeks ago and Luke was disappointed
that it was melting fast and wasn't suitable for building a snowman.
So we made one out of construction paper instead.

When I went to Luke's school to watch him share the two croaking/singing
Christmas frogs (I received as a gift in high school which my kids LOVE)
for show and tell, I also got to see him lead his class in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Luke has been into creating words and finding out how things are spelled lately.
Top left, he spelled TLI with cars.
Bottom left is a baker's hat he made/decorated at school.
Right is an example of his handwriting and drawing.

When it comes to carrots, Luke is a man of extremes.
He prefers to eat either the tiniest baby carrots in the bag,
or chomp down on XL whole carrots.

Luke told me this joke a few weeks ago:
Q: What did the Chinese warrior say to the Chick-fil-A owner?
A: Do you have any churros?
"Get it? Because Chick-fil-A doesn't have any churros?"

Also a few weeks ago, Luke was jumping on Eliza and generally
bothering her while she was lying in bed.

L: I'm just exercising.
E: Yeah!  But I don't like it when people exercise ON ME!
.... insert a lot of crying ...
L: Liza I'm trying to make a sound that you don't like.

Brothers will be brothers...
