I loved that Eliza wanted me to chaperone her field trip to Discovery Gateway, a very cool children's museum in downtown Salt Lake. It was fun to be there with her and her friends and see all of the great activities the museum had to offer. I definitely want to go back with all the kids!
When Cat and her science project partner were working on their poster, Luke wanted to make one too. Eliza decided to work with Luke to make this cool poster and I thought it was so sweet.
Whit recently got a set of walkie-talkies and has been having a BLAST with them. We got ours out so that FOUR kids can spread out all over the house and join in on the fun. It made me smile when Eliza used the walkie-talkie to read a Christmas story to Whit the other day.
Eliza did a beautiful job of wrapping a birthday for a friend recently. We're out of birthday wrapping paper so she used several sheets of tissue paper, patiently wrapping each layer separately. Then Luke wanted to help, so on the last layer, she let him. It was so sweet, and this is exactly what the gift looked like when she went to her friend's party.
Another wrapping picture, only this is Cat's Christmas gift from Eliza, a single mechanical pencil (which is exactly what Cat wanted). I took this picture because it struck me as funny how much paper Eliza was using for the size of the gift. (It's hard to tell in this picture.) But she did a great job and I thought it was great that she wanted to take care of it herself.
Eliza went through a brief phase where she was making instruments using recyclables and construction paper. By the time she was finished, she had piano, a guitar, a flute and a drum. She let Luke and Whit join in the fun, too, and they all loved it.
Eliza has also been into origami lately and is really getting the hang of it.
Sometimes Eliza did something other than playing basketball with Jack during Cat's halftimes.
