Halloween Greetings from Oz

Surprisingly enough, the kids stuck with the idea of dressing up as the characters from "The Wizard of Oz" so we had fun getting the whole family involved this year.

The girls helped me make their costumes.  I love the way they turned out - especially Glinda's huge crown.

The kids had a great time trick-or-treating.  Cat was a good sport about keeping a manageable pace so that the younger kids could keep up with her.  Jack was so excited about trick-or-treating that he kept tripping over his feet trying to get to the doors.  I won't get too specific about how many times he fell, but let's just say it was less than 5 but more than 3.  And with impressive forward momentum.  Eliza's costume and props were slowing her down, so she ended up shedding her wand, crown, hoop skirt, and tights before we were finished.  Luke was so cute.  He wasn't sure what to do at first, but figured it out pretty quickly.  He only wanted one piece of candy at a time, though.  Whenever someone tried to give him a handful of candy, he would take the candy, choose one to keep, and give the rest back.  This baffled the homeowners, but Luke was determined.
