more stuff we did in July

Ben brought the kids to see the Music and the Spoken Word
Fourth of July special.

Splash Summit for the win!
We arrived early before it was very crowded and stayed until Cat
needed to go to work.  It was a beautiful sunny day and we all loved it.

(Jack officially reached a new milestone of adolescence this summer:
seeking out new friends around his age to talk to.  Particularly female ones.
I guess I also reached a new milestone of parenthood: taking creepy stalker pictures.)

Front yard spray battle

Helping Dad wash the boat to prepare it to sell.

Ben's coworker offered him lots of extra enormous crayfish.
LIVE enormous crayfish.  Which Ben was pretty excited to boil up for dinner.
And Luke was excited to play with.

Jack and his cousin John Morgan went to the Lindon pool on their own a few times.
I suspect he was practicing that skill of talking to new friends (girls).

Douggie came over for a playdate with Luke
and they had a fun water battle in the front yard too.

Library success.

Cat took Luke on a date to Nickel City.  Luke had more fun than Cat I think.

Luke really thought we should buy these classy
banjo-playing skeletons at Costco.  In July.

Ben and the younger kids came to the Conference Center for the
Tabernacle Choir's summer concert called "Love Thy Neighbor."

I'd given out lots of tickets, including to Luke's good friend's family.
They had fun seeing each other in the lobby after the concert.

I think someone should invent a boy's suit that has velcro
in the sleeve cuffs and leg hems.  That way, when the kid outgrows
the suit in 2 weeks, you can adjust it and the kid won't want to keep
wearing it while looking like... this.

While the girls were at Girls' Camp with the YW, I took the boys
to Boondocks to play in the arcade and take a turn on the go-karts.

We tried the new strawberry Frosty at Wendy's and it was... okay.

Pops sent Luke his old Army tent and it was so cool!

We stopped by the Orem summer concert series one night while a bluegrass
band was playing.  It was fun to just hang out and enjoy music on a nice summer evening.

We tried a shave ice place in AF called Vampire Penguin which was also... okay.

Jack attended a drawing camp at Scera Center for the Arts and he loved it!
