Camping, Hiking, and Biking, Oh My!

Back in July, we were nervous about how Jack would do camping with the Young Men - setting up the tent, sleeping in a sleeping bag, putting everything away - so we had a little trial run in the backyard.  We put up the tent and watched some Bluey and the boys and I slelpt in there.  It was pretty fun, especially for Luke who was the only kid not going on a real camping trip this summer, and I think it helped Jack.

Jack went camping for 3 nights with the Teachers and Priests at Echo Lake.  Ben went up the last night and brought some treats and stayed with the group.  When Jack came home on Saturday morning he was definitely the dirtiest I've ever seen him (the picture doesn't do it justice) and I suspect he hadn't changed clothes the whole time.  But he had a blast!

We invited my cousin's daughter Carlie (recently moved from Kentucky to start school at BYU) to join us for Sunday dinner and an easy hike in late July.  We went up to the Albion Basin and hiked to Cecret Lake.  It was so beautiful as always and I had fun just enjoying the scenery and taking pictures.

Cat and Liza went to Girls' Camp with our ward, camping in tents for 3 nights at Gooseberry Campground in Fairview.  They LOVED it!  (Leeches and all.)  They had dance parties, did skits, painted, made friendship bracelets, did hair, sang, played in the water, and more.  I love that they had one year at Girls' Camp together!

One day while the girls were at camp and Luke was at coding camp, I twisted Jack's arm into going on a bike ride with me.  We biked about 10 miles from our house, up to and along the Murdock Trail, and back.  It was beautiful and I'm pretty sure he ended up having a good time.
