Upper Falls

We took the kids on a short hike to a waterfall we'd never heard of just up the trail from Bridal Veil Falls.  It's called Upper Falls and it was only .6 miles to the waterfall.  Getting started was a bit interesting: finding the right place to park, squeezing through a hole in a chain-link fence, crossing the Provo River on a bridge with no side rails of any kind, and then finding the trail on the other side of the Provo River Parkway.  But we did it, and the hike was the perfect distance and challenge for our little crew.  It was sweet to see the way Cat helped Luke climb the rocks most of the way up.

The waterfall at the top was pretty, but Ben and I found it intriguing that there was not stream or river coming out of the waterfall. The water seemed to just seep right into the ground.  We might need to go back in the Spring and see if it's any different.

I loved that there was a cool structure built out of branches and rocks, big enough for our whole family to sleep in.

Once we arrived at the waterfall, we saw another trail that took us a little higher and even had a rope attached to a tree to help hikers get up to the next part of the trail.  It didn't go very far, but it was still fun to explore.
