Happy New Year!

We had a fun little New Year's countdown last night around 9:30pm.  Cat decided to make some confetti poppers after dinner, so I helped her gather supplies and made some colored confetti using our paper shredder, and she put everything together all by herself.  (UPDATE: Click here to see the video Cat used.)  They turned out so cute!

She made enough for everyone to have their own, so we watched King Julien's New Year's Eve Countdown on Netflix and launched confetti and balloons and then rang in the New Year (almost) with Martinelli's, of course.  The confetti poppers were so fun that we refilled them a few times to have even more confetti-popping fun before the younger kids went to bed.

We told the kids yesterday that they were welcome to stay up until midnight if they took a nap for at least an hour.  Jack and Eliza tried to nap that afternoon but just couldn't make themselves do it.  Cat was successful, though, and had fun watching a "big" movie with Ben and me so that we could ring in the new year together.

Happy New Year!
