Thanksgiving Trip: Tallahassee

It was a pretty quick turnaround time to get things packed up and cleaned out at the beach house Friday morning. But there was time for breakfast pie, thank goodness.  We said goodbye to all of John's crew, then stopped by the St. Augustine Lighthouse on our way out of town. It was too crowded to try to get out and walk around there so I just got a quick selfie. I love lighthouses.

Mema woke up feeling very sick Friday morning, so when we got to Tallahassee, she rested while the rest of us hung out. The kids relaxed and played, Papa and Ben and I went on a walk around the neighborhood, and we tried out some of Mema and Papa's citrus fruit. Ben was in charge of a yummy seafood feast (thanks to Matt at Southern Seafood) that everyone contributed to.

(fall in Tallahassee)

That evening we watched the Florida-Florida State game, which was really exciting! There were some nail-biting moments but we finally won 45-38 around 11:30. Hooray!

We headed out of town Saturday morning, making a quick stop at the temple construction site to see the progress on the temple. It's so beautiful!

We tried a couple of local places for lunch on our way back to the Atlanta airport with no luck - and ended up back at Waffle House. Nobody complained though. Then, some tag by the parking lot to burn off some energy before flying home.
