Jack Played Baseball

Jack has just a little bit of baseball experience: one summer on a machine-pitch team over 3 years ago. But he was excited at the prospect of playing for the middle school team, and it was perfect for him.  The coach was a volunteer parent who loves the game and is hoping to help build a stronger baseball program at the school.  (He has several baseball player sons.)  It was a coed team with several kids who were playing for the first time, and the coach was very patient and focused on teaching basics.  Jack really enjoyed it and learned a lot.  Ben helped him with batting too, going to a batting cage a couple of times and working with a batting coach a little bit.

Coach Erik had a hard time finding other middle school teams to play against, so a typical weekly schedule was to have a scrimmage against the HS team on Thursday afternoon, a practice on Friday afternoon, and a practice on Saturday morning.

Jerseys didn't come in until the end of September, just as things were winding down,
so Jack played all of the scrimmages in one of Cat's soccer shirts.

In mid-November, there was a parent vs. player game
and I had Jack wear his jersey so I could take a few pictures.
He was the only one in his jersey, haha, but he looked great!

Luke and Ben had fun playing baseball, and just playing...
