The Chicken Chronicles 3.26.21

This month we noticed that Bandit has a rooster friend a few houses away.  Bandit will walk to the fence near where the other rooster lives and crow at his buddy.

Thus, it may not be surprising that our neighbor has started complaining about Bandit making noise again.  Ben came up with the idea to insulate the coop and keep the chickens in the coop longer in the morning to cut down on the noise in the mornings.  One Saturday afternoon I helped him put insulation on the walls, then cover it to keep the chickens from pecking at it.

Cat informed us a while ago that the chickens like flower petals, so we've been bringing them petals from the wilted flowers we had in the house.  Our, ahem, spoiled, chickens preferred that we break the petals into little pieces to make it easier for them to eat.

Cat got photographic evidence of the chickens, particularly Bandit, hanging out right at her window, which is at ground level.  Bandit will also crow at her from just outside her window.

And... aggressive Bandit getting up close and personal with Cat in the back yard.

In other news, Dixie has a bald spot.  I don't have photographic evidence of this, but figured I'd let you know.
