The Chicken Chronicles 11.27.20

The coop and run are officially finished!  The windows are in, the trim is on, and everything that needs to be painted is painted.  Actually, I just remembered that there is one more finishing touch we've talked about adding.  I'll be cryptic and tell you that we haven't decided weather we're going to get it.

This week we left the chickens for a few days while we went to California for Thanksgiving.  A neighbor came to collect the eggs so that they wouldn't start pecking at them.  We left the run door open so the flock had free range of the yard the whole time, and no predators came and attacked them.  Yeah!

Did I bribe the chickens with worm-treats to get
them to pose in front of their newly-finished coop?

Maybe.

How many chickens do we have again?

Jack enjoys watching the chickens from the family
room door and often exclaims, "Mom! Come look at this!"
On this day I think he was excited that Ms. Felix had flown
up to the camp stove, and then Bandit started crowing at her.
