One day that week I brought in a pizza for us to share for lunch.
And on his actual birthday, his class sang to him, then at recess he handed out candy as a birthday treat. Then we took a Mother-Son-Birthday-Selfie. Because that's a thing.
At home that morning, he opened one birthday present (a toy he'd been wanting from Grammy) so that he could also bring that to school for show & tell. And he had a special breakfast. After dinner that night, he opened some more presents and blew out the candle on his cake.
A couple of days later, Jack had his first actual birthday party. He invited several boys from his class at school, and a neighbor. They loved the Sumo Bumper Boppers. And when everyone was ready, we divided up the LEGOs so that each group would have the same general pieces - at least enough to make a car of some kind. They the groups took turns racing each other down a hill, which was fun. Then we enjoyed a doughnut cake (all Jack's idea) and tried to bust our pinata. It was a fun time!
Yeah for Lucky Number Seven!
What a unique and fun birthday!
