Playdate in Salt Lake

I've known Keli since we were in the same ward in Jacksonville back when Cat was born.  She moved away from the area before we did, and it's been fun to get to see her again now that we live in the same state, even though we live over an hour apart.  We decided to meet up in Salt Lake City to get the kids together one morning and it was great.  This was only the second time the kids have seen each other (the first time was last fall, so it had been several months), and they had a lot of fun.

First, we hung out at the Church History Museum.  The kids lasted about 10 minutes in the "museum" portion, thanks mostly to an awesome volunteer who pointed out several items on display and told them stories about where they came from and why they're significant.

Are you wondering if we coordinated the naming of any of our children?

After that 10 minutes we headed up to the "interactive Friend Magazine" portion of the museum.
They stayed interested for a little longer than 10 minutes once we got there.

Anyone can stack blocks.
It takes a kid with real talent to stack fish.

Cat, Kate, Sydni, Jack, and random boy checking out
the electronic "find the hidden object" games.

Catching fish...

and hoarding fish.
I'm not sure why these were so important to him on this day..?

Going nowhere fast.

"Before we go any further, we really have to decide who's driving this thing."

(I just really loved this needlework piece of Enos praying.)

After some play time in the museum we found a nice bit of grass for a picnic...

and because the temple was receiving its annual maintenance,
nobody seemed to care that we were right beside the fountain.

Then a game of Duck Duck Goose,

and, of course, some fun Temple-ish photos.
Sorry I cut you off there, Sydni!

I LOVE this picture of Jack and Eliza, who are just about 3 months apart.
I imagine Jack saying to Eliza, "Okay. The big kids did it. We can too. Just hold my hand and I'll count to three. We'll stay together. Ready?"

Keli, thanks for bringing your kids down to the big city.
We had a great time, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
