I grew up with the tradition of decorating sugar cookies every Christmas (and many other holidays during the year.) I have tried to continue this tradition, but with the busy-ness of the season, it's just too much to prepare and clean up, so this year I gave up! And we tried something new: decorating gingerbread men/women. It's a much more manageable task (no sprinkles to roll all over the house!) and I only made one large one for each of us to decorate. Perfect for FHE last week.
Can you guess which one Cat decorated?Last week Cat also got to make a "Gingerbread" House for a family fun day at school. They used graham crackers and small milk cartons--perfect! This is what Cat came up with:

(Side note: I was very proud of myself because I let her do it all herself! Other parents there were telling their children what candy to use, where to put it, and how to put it on. I mostly just advised on the most efficient use of frosting, since there was barely enough for all the kids.)
Love those gingerbread people and houses.
ReplyDeleteHaha... Cat is still wearing her crown and gave her cookie a crown. Way to go, Memaw.
