Jack the Wilderness Survivor

Sunday afternoon it was raining here, and Cat decided she wanted to run around in her bathing suit. So we let her do it, on the condition that she stay in the back yard, close to the house. Jack was out playing on the back porch and the adults were inside enjoying a little quiet. After a little while, Cat came inside, then I heard a very faint cry that sounded like Jack, but I couldn't tell where it was coming from. We all looked around in the house and didn't see him, and we looked on the porch and didn't see him. Then I realized that Cat probably either left the screen door open or purposely brought Jack outside without telling us, and that he could be outside in the rain somewhere. So I ran out looking for him, and finally found him in the playhouse part of our swing set. He really wasn't that wet, and wasn't very upset, perhaps he just wanted someone to play with him? But Ben was convinced that it was Jack's survivor instincts that helped him know to climb up into the playhouse where he could be sheltered from the rain. I was just thankful that he didn't go any farther!!
