Monster Jam

We had a blast at Monster Jam in January! I had the idea to take the family, and when I was getting tickets I saw the option for a "Pit Party" and asked Ben about it and he was SUPER excited to go to that. I didn't think the Pit Party would be that great but it was actually really cool to be able to see the trucks up close. Obviously, we took tons of pictures.

There was a LOOOOOOONG line to get a picture with Grave Digger and
the driver. We opted just to take a picture with the truck instead.

And... the whole family. This is really the only truck we were excited to see,
since Jack had a Grave Digger toy monster truck when he was little.

Luke colored this cardstock mohawk.

The girls designed their own monster trucks.

We bought an overpriced cotton candy so that we
could get the cheap plastic Grave Digger mask that came with it.

There was plenty of time between the end of the Pit Party and the beginning of the competition, so we got some lunch and wandered around the Vivint Center a bit before going to our seats. And then the real fun began! I didn't know what Monster Jam would entail, but it turned out to be lots of tricks, flips, donuts, racing, and NOISE. We saw a couple of trucks get stuck upside down, which I think it kind of like seeing a fight break out at a hockey game - it's not exactly the reason you go, but it takes the experience up a notch, and you're a little disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Liza was on the big screen behind the announcer lady at one point.

El Toro Loco was the winner of the day.
