Summer Miscellany - June and July

With Covid case counts falling, vaccination rates rising, and mask mandates disappearing, June and July felt almost normal.  We stopped wearing masks and felt comfortable gathering with friends and family.

Happy Day: Costco started carrying churros again!

Another Happy Day: Cat and Jack got the 2nd dose of the Covid vaccine!

One More Happy Day: Primary finally started meeting in-person
(though youth meetings had been happening in-person for months).

Other goings on:
We took a supposed fossil that Luke found on a beach in Florida (and gave to Jack)
to our local rock shop and were told that it was an actual fossil, which was super cool.
Then Jack bought another one for $2.  The beginnings of a collection!

Bike ride with the youngers.

Indoor Basketball

Eliza took the cousin sleepover as an opportunity to make a batch of fondant
and divide it up between everyone.  Who doesn't want sweet, edible playdough?

Another bike ride with the youngers, this time stopping at a playground for a bit:

Our first and only time boating this summer:

Kinda crazy how the water of Utah Lake looks like snow in this picture.
I promise - it's not.

Go-Karting sisters

Eliza and Luke sleeping in a fort in the family room.

A visit with Oma one Sunday afternoon:
We saw the pigeon mama and chicks Oma hates so much.

Eliza impressed Oma with a card trick.

Apparently, Luke has a trucking company.

Lize in Disguise

I love this picture of Malachi and Zerin when they were hanging out at our house!

Eliza loves to concoct things.
I don't even remember what this was...

By the time I took this picture, it was mostly gone, but you can kind of
see that Eliza used a nail polish pen to draw a stick figure on Luke's knee.
Because, of course.

It was sweet to see Eliza and our neighbor Mei working together
when we were cleaning the church one Saturday morning.

Also while cleaning the church we realized that Luke perfectly matched
the chalkboard and bulletin board in this classroom.

A Sunday drive to Temple Square and the Tabernacle was OPEN!
