Father's Day Weekend

On Friday evening Ben took Jack to buy a Go Kart!  They'd been talking about it for months (years?) and Ben decided it was time to take the plunge.  It was all contained in a large box that fit in the bed of Ben's truck, but only partially assembled.  Ben and Suz came over to join in the Go Kart assembly and initiation and pretty soon it was ready to go!  Our kids all tested it out on the street in front of our house, then the next day they started driving around in our back yard.  It's not great for the grass, so we've had to take breaks from driving it in the grass but the kids love it whenever they get the chance.  It's only been tipped a couple of times and no chickens have been permanently injured.  It's been fun for the kids to let their friends and cousins have turns on it when they come over, and Jack's Deacon quorum even loaded it into a leader's truck and took it to the mountains to ride around.  So fun!

On Father's Day, Eliza got up early with me to help make breakfast in bed for Ben.  We also made a sign that said "Yoda Best Dad," with a picture of Grogu (baby Yoda) on it.  Then after church while Ben and I took naps, Eliza and Luke made several more signs and hung them up around the house.  Jack also drew a Jurassic World collage for Ben with the title "Happy Father's Day from Jurassic World."  Cat was in SC but we had a video call with her, which was fun, and she'd written out a sweet card for Ben before she left.  We had jumbo shrimp for dinner and homemade ice cream for dessert.

"I love my Dad to the end of the universe."

"My Dad looks as sharp as a shark tooth."

"My Dad loves me more than Snow Cone Rainbow Ice."

"My Dad is a work of art"

"I love Dad!"

"Yoda Best Dad" sign, and the "Dadzilla - Father of the Monsters"
shirt Jack picked out for Ben on etsy.

We sure love Ben and are so grateful he's the father of our family!
