St. George Island, part 2

We had a lovely Sunday at the beach.  There was no fishing or splashing in the water, but we had a great little Church service at the beach house, worked on a puzzle, and took a big chunk of the day to go to see Ben's best friend since childhood, Tim.  He and his family live in Panama City, about an hour and a half from where we were staying.  We had lunch with them and just talked and hung out and it was awesome.  And Jack taught the other kids how to play Sabacc!  While we were gone, Bill and Cleo made a quick trip back to Tallahassee and back, then went on a little bike ride on the cruisers at the beach house.  Once we got back we had a yummy baked potato dinner and Luke made a "surprise" Oreo for Mema for dessert (with a mini marshmallow covered by whipped cream).  Then we all played a big game of Sabacc together (not pictured).

Monday was our best beach day, with warm, sunny weather.  Cat and Eliza went for a jog, the younger kids played in the sand, and everyone did some fishing (except me - because it would have been a waste of a rod).  We took the kids down to the center of the island for a bit to check out the fun beach-y Christmas decorations and the light house and to get ice cream and walk through the souvenir shop.  Then that night Mema and Papa put on a delicious fish fry with all the fish everyone had caught, plus some shrimp that Ben and Bill had picked up in town that morning.  It was absolutely delicious!

Jack and Mema played a find-the-buried-shell game.

Eliza created a cool shell sculpture but somehow I didn't get a picture of it.

Jack talked to every dog that walked by!
