SD Sunday

The last Sunday in March we had a really beautiful Zoom testimony meeting with family in SC and in Argentina, all the more powerful as we were joining millions of others in a worldwide fast to end COVID-19.  It was so special to hear testimonies from family members in different places going through different things who all derive strength from their faith and trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

In the afternoon I made everyone go up to SLC with me.  I wanted to turn in the TabChoir music still in my possession, and I also wanted to show the family how construction on Temple Square was coming along, and we wanted to see Moroni without his trumpet, and of course the beautiful spring flowers.

This is where the South Visitors' Center used to be.

Jack took this picture.

I brought my big camera along to try to get a good picture of Moroni, and the girls ended up taking more pictures than I did.  Here are some of my favorites from the 300+ pictures we took (in the hour or so we were walking around).

In this picture you can also see the earthquake-damaged spire on the right side.

I've never seen Temple Square so empty in the middle of the day.  There were a few other people walking around, and a couple of sets of sister missionaries, but it was mostly dead.  For the first time ever, we spent as long as we wanted taking pictures at the bride's pedestal.  It was nice to spend some time outside, in that beautiful sacred area, on a Sunday afternoon.
