Jack remains a happy, creative, fun-loving, smart boy. He loves to draw and write both fiction and non-fiction books, he loves to ride his bike, and he loves to have fun with his friends. He has been tackling Harry Potter for the last month and was reading the third book in the series on his birthday (but as a family we were listening to the second book). He enjoys getting time to watch movies/shows; going to Cub Scouts; eating tomatoes, cucumbers, and candy; participating in sports; and playing with dogs. He's doing well in school and in his piano lessons. Jack has trouble behaving at times but has matured a lot over the last year and is trying to continue making progress. We sure love having Jack around and are so grateful for him!
Jack's 9th Birthday
Jack had a fun but low-key birthday this year. He woke up nice and early and I stole a few extra winks by letting him knew he'd be excited to listen to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on audiobook to start the day. Then I took the kids a local grocery store that serves Texas Doughnuts (the size of three regular doughnuts, but the price of two). None of the kids were able to finish their enormous doughnuts, but they had fun trying. We had Jack's chosen lunch (turkey sandwiches, cheese puffs, cherry tomatoes, and cucumbers), enjoyed his Hot Wheels cake, and Jack opened his presents, which he absolutely loved. Then we took a break in the celebrating and watched Cat's soccer game. The party continued in the evening with a Chick-Fil-A dinner and watching the movie "Sing" that we picked up at Redbox. It was a good day!
