Ben had a birthday!
We didn't do anything too wild and crazy, but the highlight for the kids was probably this:
Ben took The Bigs to run an errand in the Salt Lake area, and decided to stop and browse at the massively massive Scheels. They have a Ferris wheel inside the store and Ben let the kids go for a ride. Then they touched/used/tried on everything they could in the store. The kids loved it! And Ben was kind enough to keep them in the store for more than 5 minutes.
We've been wanting to go to this cool park in the Provo Canyon for a little while, so on Ben's birthday we decided to just go hang out in the afternoon. It's called South Fork Park and it is a beautiful location up on the mountain a little ways. It has a big grassy area, lots of picnic tables, and a big stream running through it. We had fun exploring and playing soccer, and the kids walked through the freezing cold water.
Eliza is fishing with a fishing pole she made herself with a tiny twig, a string she found somewhere, and a leaf for bait. |
We got home, ran the kids to swim lessons, then had dinner and Birthday Banana Pudding. Mmmm. I was glad that Ben chose that as his dessert, since we haven't had it in, oh, forever. :-)
Ben got a grill for his birthday, and let's just say that we've all been enjoying it.
Happy Birthday, Ben!
