Wellspring O' Fun

It's been interesting to see since we've moved, how much of our lives revolved around the one mile area surrounding the house we lived in in Orem.  Our findings: a lot.  I'm pretty sure that since the summer started, we've been in that area more days than not.  Oh well, at least we're only adding 12 minutes to the drive each time.

Anyway... on one of the days when we drove up to our former neighborhood in Orem, it was for Cat to attend a friend's birthday party.  It was a short enough party that I felt it wasn't worth my time and gas money to go back to our house in Provo, and I didn't have any errands to run, so I took Jack and Eliza to a splash pad nearby.  I brought a book and even read a page or two.  And the kids had a great time.  Here's some proof.

I have to admit... I kinda like the way the mountains provide such a nice backdrop...
um... everywhere we go.

I have an older brother who really likes to make a gorilla face whenever he's photographed with his immediate family - see this photo from Family Reunion 2009.  Jack started his own version of this recently.  Except, instead of imitating a primate, Jack is going for the zombie-robot look.  I can't decide which is more attractive...

Our poor kids still aren't acclimated to swimming in not-so-scorching heat, so after they got thoroughly chilled in the fountain (and had a blast doing it), they warmed themselves in the sun.  Eliza didn't make it into my picture, but she was doing the same thing.  Promise.

  1. Beautiful place. Eliza looks just like Cat in one of these pics:) I'll have to admit, Jack looks surprisingly like a zombie-robot in his pose. Could scare me in the dark!!
