The Adventures of Cat & Jack: Happy Mother's Day

Tonight we had a special Mother's Day dinner. We asked our moms about their favorite recipes, and recipes they remember the previous generation using, and put a meal together around those recipes. Together, Ben and I made BBQ ribs, corn on the cob, mac & cheese (that was my choice--I love my mac & cheese!), cucumber salad, and Sally Lunn Bread. Then we made a yummy apple pie for dessert (my first time doing the whole thing from scratch, and it was great, and very pretty.) We took the opportunity to talk some about our mothers and why mothers are special. A snippet of our conversation:

Me: What do you think the best thing about Moms is?
Cat: Cause they're so awesome. And also cause they make the best food.

(This is the night we brought Eliza home from the hospital, and it's the only picture I have that is of just me and the 3 kids. Sad!)
