The two Mondays before Easter we had great Family Home Evenings to help us prepare for the holiday. On March 31st, our lesson was about how many things in nature receive new life in the spring, just like how Christ received new life, and gives us new life. For our treat that night, I made Chinese noodle cookie-nests with Dubble Bubble eggs. They were awesome--and Cat continues to ask for nests!
The following Monday we had a lesson about resurrection and tried to teach Catherine exactly what it meant that Jesus was resurrected. That one went well, too, but I don't have any pictures to share. :-)
That's a really good idea! you'll have to tell me how to make those!
ReplyDeleteI had another friend email me about the recipe, so I'll share it here. It's the same as when you make chow mein noodle cookies. (I usually make them at Christmas.) But it's 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup butterscotch chips melted together. Stir with about 2 cups of chow mein noodles (and a package of peanuts if desired). Drop clumps together on wax paper and push a candy egg or two into the middle to make it resemble a nest. If you are just making cookies, just drop small spoonfulls onto the wax paper. Let set for about 30 minutes. Voila! SOOO yummy. And the recipe also works with pretzel sticks.
