The Chicken Chronicles 10.9.20

The big news this week?  We took Bandit to the vet!  Which means we took him in the car!  Ben made an appointment a couple of weeks earlier because of Bandit's lingering limp.  It was almost completely healed by the time the appointment rolled around but we decided to take him in anyway.  Jack was really excited to take Bandit out and have the vet make sure he was okay and talk the vet's ear off about all things chicken.

Jack did a great job of holding Bandit on a towel while we drove the 3 minutes to the vet, and he kept holding Bandit while we sat in the waiting area.  Once we were in the exam room, Bandit was able to walk around and explore.  He really took advantage of the acoustics in the bare room with a tile floor and high ceiling - he probably crowed over a dozen times.

We found out that Bandit weighed 5 lbs. 13 oz., and when Dr. Peacock (seriously) looked him over, she declared that he was perfectly healthy, and then she answered as many of Jack's chicken questions as she could.  I finally cut Jack off, telling him we needed to let the vet go so she could take care of the other pets who needed help.

Dinner time!

Can you tell in this picture?
Sometimes Bandit tries to hang out in the Big Chicken Coop
and we have to shoo him out.
